An unknown buyer purchased two units at Vornado Realty Trust’s 220 Central Park South for $81.5 million, making it NYC’s second most expensive sale in 2024. These units, 63 and 18A, sold at a 30% premium over their 2020 prices. Previously, David Och sold his penthouse there for $188 million in 2022, doubling his purchase price. This off-market sale surpassed an $80 million deal at the same building in 2023. 220 Central Park South, designed by Robert A.M. Stern, boasts the U.S.’s most expensive residential sale: Ken Griffin’s $238 million purchase in 2019. Only six units remained unsold as of March 2023.
