Metro Loft Management, led by Nathan Berman, has filed plans to convert Pfizer’s former headquarters at 229 East 42nd Street and the adjacent building at 219 East 42nd Street into a total of 1,463 residential units. The conversion project, beginning this summer, is controlled by David Werner Real Estate Investments. The 33-story building at 229 East 42nd Street will be transformed into a 37-story, 927-unit residential building, while the 10-story building at 219 East 42nd Street will be converted into a 29-story, 536-unit residential building with office and retail spaces. The project will also feature residential amenities and a terrace.
