A New York hedge funder has purchased the late architect Thierry Despont’s Southampton estate for $17.9 million in an all-cash deal. The 34-acre property, located at 320 Majors Path, includes a 6,000-square-foot main residence with six bedrooms, a guest house, and a pool house. Despont originally assembled the estate between 2011 and 2013 for $8.5 million. The property was listed in 2022 for $23.5 million, with the price later reduced to $20 million after Despont’s death in 2023. Douglas Elliman brokers handled the sale.
