Vanbarton Group is set to purchase the Archdiocese of New York’s 20-story office building at 1011 First Avenue in Sutton Place for over $100 million. The sale, brokered by CBRE’s Doug Middleton, comes as the Archdiocese prepares to move its headquarters to 488 Madison Avenue. This marks Vanbarton’s latest office-to-residential conversion project, following its recent $95 million acquisition of 77 Water Street in the Financial District, where it plans to develop up to 600 rental units. Vanbarton has completed similar projects, including the 588-unit Pearl House at 160 Water Street.
