American Express

American Express

American Express is negotiating with Silverstein Properties to potentially anchor the long-awaited 2 World Trade Center tower. The financial services firm, considering relocating from its current headquarters at 200 Vesey Street, has been exploring options for two years. Developer Larry Silverstein needs an anchor tenant to secure financing for the project, which could exceed 3 million square feet. American Express is also evaluating other Manhattan locations and the possibility of renovating its existing office space. An announcement regarding the new headquarters may align with the upcoming 9/11 anniversary and the release of Silverstein’s memoir.
