Corigin Real Estate Group secured a $180 million loan from Apollo Global Management to refinance NYU’s largest dormitory, Lafayette Hall, at 80 Lafayette Street in Tribeca. The 17-story, 1,100-bed property replaces a $161.3 million Freddie Mac loan. NYU, which has master-leased the building for over 20 years, recently extended its lease for another decade starting in 2027. Newmark’s Jordan Roeschlaub and Nick Scribani arranged the financing. Apollo, through its Athene insurance arm, continues expanding its real estate footprint, recently lending $275 million for FiDi multifamily properties and agreeing to acquire Bridge Investment Group for $1.5 billion.
