Despite design modifications to reduce shadow on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Garden officials remain opposed, citing potential impacts on plant health. The City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in August to review the proposal, which includes 119 affordable units. The final decision rests with the City Council, where Council Member Crystal Hudson’s approval is crucial. Continuum may still move forward with a market-rate development if the rezoning fails.
