Gencom, a Miami-based real estate investment firm, has acquired the Thompson Central Park Hotel in Midtown Manhattan for $308 million. This marks Gencom’s first hotel purchase in New York City. The 42-story hotel, which features 587 keys and the renowned Parker’s burger restaurant, will continue operating under the Thompson brand as part of Hyatt. The acquisition was financed with a $230 million loan from Ramsfield Hospitality Finance and other funds. The property recently underwent a $100 million renovation and last sold for $420 million nearly five years ago.
