Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer’s Quantum Pacific purchased 767 Third Avenue in Midtown East for $88 million, marking its first commercial acquisition in Manhattan. The 40-story building, owned by Sage Realty, has faced challenges since a $30 million renovation in 2019 left it half-empty, with the pandemic further impacting occupancy. The Kaufman family, who built the property in 1981, listed it for sale this spring amid high vacancy rates along Third Avenue. Eastdil Secured brokered the deal, which is pending closure. Ofer’s plans for the property remain unclear.
