Genting, the operator of Resorts World New York City, has unveiled plans for a $5 billion expansion at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Jamaica, Queens. The proposal includes adding 2 million square feet of entertainment, gaming, retail, dining, and convention space, with a 350,000-square-foot casino floor featuring Las Vegas-style gaming. The expansion also encompasses 1,600 hotel rooms, 3,000 units of workforce housing, over 10 acres of public green space, a 7,000-seat entertainment venue, a spa, and various dining options from celebrity chefs Scott Conant and Marcus Samuelsson. The plan is contingent on being awarded one of the state’s three downstate gaming licenses.
