The Coney Casino

The Coney Casino

Thor Equities, led by Joseph Sitt, unveiled new renderings for its $3 billion Coney Island casino project, competing for one of three downstate New York gaming licenses. The development, named “The Coney,” includes a 500-room hotel, a 2,500-seat concert venue, 70,000 square feet of retail, and 90,000 square feet of event space. The project, stretching from Stillwell Avenue to West 12th Street, aims to secure a gaming license by 2025. The competition includes bids from major players like Genting’s Resorts World and MGM’s Empire City, with Thor’s bid considered an underdog.
